    ShoeBoxMoses, Online Dance Party

In 2019 of last year, at Mindvalley University, I met Sammy Tagget, AKA, ShoeBoxMoses. He was the DJ for all the parties Mindvalley held, throughout the month long event. He’s been doing this for years, but not just with Mindvalley. He’s been a DJ for Google, Nike, BMW and Virgin Airlines, performing all over the world. But as the majority of the world are quarantined at home, the beat goes on, as Sammy continues to DJ, hosting daily, virtual online dance parties. Even when we’re all miles away, we can still come together in community. The video above was edited by me. If you want to find out how you…

Honoring the Past – Tae Kwon Do

My name is Joshua Dawson. I’m a traveling, filmmaking, writing, acting, blogging, music-making 15-year-old. You don’t hear that everyday. On top of all of that, I’m a black belt, and I want to tell you a story about honoring the past. The Journey to Black Belt When I was about 8 years old my family and I lived in Atlanta, Georgia. One day, while driving past a Karate Studio I had seen multiple times, I told my parents I wanted to take on Karate. Soon after, we signed up for ATA (American Tae Kwon Do Association). There, I had a great teacher, Mr. Lower. I trained in that studio learning…

    Sonic the Hedgehog

Earlier this year, I got to see Sonic the Hedgehog The Movie. I actually enjoyed it. It had lots of action, and a great message about friendship, even amongst differences, how there’s no need to run from difficult things, and a how you should always put your bucket list first. Plus, the movie included LEGOs, and mentioned Olive Garden, which are just a few of my favorite things! The movie reminded me of something that happened in 2019, during Mindvalley University, in Pula, Croatia. Here’s the story. It was a few weeks in, I was sitting outside with a friend at an outdoor cafe, when we saw a baby hedgehog,…

    Mindvalley Teen Video

I enjoy creating films, promos, mini movies, and all sorts of other films. And at Mindvalley University I had a plan to make one. (If you’ve read my blog, you’ll know I mention Mindvalley a lot) It had been two weeks in. I had filmed a few of the talks and parties so that I could put it together into my video. My original plan was to make a video about the Mindvalley experience as a whole until my Mom suggested to do a video just about the Teens. So that’s what I did. I interviewed the teens and teachers filming them in action. And believe me when I say…

    200 Days of Magic Moments

June 24, 2019. It was the first day of Mindvalley University where the whole world shifted for me. By the third day of the event, so many magic moments had already happened, and I knew I wanted to keep track of it all. During one of the introductory talks, the speaker Vishen Lakhiani who is CEO of Mindvalley, told us that every morning, we should write an intention and at the end of the day write anything that stood out to you. So, that night I got out my notebook and wrote all the serendipitous, incredible, out of the blue experiences that happened. 200 days later, I have a full…
