    The LEGO Chima Competition

In 2015, when my family and I were still living in Seattle, I entered in a LEGO competition called, The LEGO Chima Big Box Challenge. LEGO Chima is a LEGO brand series about 6 Animal tribes made up of the Lions, Crocs, Ravens, Eagles, Bears and Rhinos. The series went through three seasons, the last being Ice V.S. fire. All the tribes, including the newly found Phoenix Tribe, must band together to stop the Ice clans that have risen from the depths. For the challenge, builders from all around the world were tasked to create a LEGO Chima fort or base, for whichever tribe you choose. Ice or fire. But…

    Lego Stores Around The World

If you know me, I love LEGO’s. I also love LEGO stores and since my family and I travel full time as nomads, I have seen many LEGO stores around the world. One of the prompts for doing this was when my good friend at the LEGO store in the Alderwood Mall introduced me to LEGO passports. If you have one, you can get stamps from any and every LEGO store you go to around the world. You can also collect unique passports from those places like German and Italian passports. So, that’s exactly what we did. Rome The LEGO store in Rome is pretty cool. It has large scale…

    My Little Big Shots Submission

When my family and I were still living in Seattle Washington, one of my favorite shows was Little Big Shots. Hosted by the famous comedian Steve Harvey, Little Big Shots is a series of episodes where kids extraordinary talents and skill come to share them with the world. They’re like Young Achievers. They had all kinds of widely talented kids. A 4 year old Bruce Lee, cotton candy expert, country singer, dancers, 3 year old basketball player, young chefs, young pianist, you name it. Some of the kids I guarantee will surprise you. Now, if you know anything about me, you know I love LEGO’s. It’s one of my biggest…

THE LEGO MOVIE 2 – Movie Maker Challenge

This is my LEGO MOVIE 2 – Movie Maker Challenge video. Let me tell you a bit of backstory behind it. In 2019, LEGO announced a challenge based on the the new LEGO MOVIE 2. (I love that movie) If you haven’t seen it, see it, it’s AWESOME (If you remember from the first LEGO MOVIE, they had the song Everything is Awesome. The joke in the previous two paragraphs was intended). For the competition you had to create a 1 minute stop motion, or real time LEGO video using the LEGO MOVIE 2 Movie Maker App (Wow that was a mouth full) the goal of the competition is to…

    LEGO Medieval Village

This is my LEGO Medieval Village creation! I love building all kinds of different LEGO creations based on plays, movies, famous sites and buildings, really anything that inspires me. But I don’t really build big scale models that often. I wanted to make something big. I’ve visited the LEGO event Brick-Con in Seattle twice and marveled at the incredibly big creations. Castles, cities, ships, battle scenes. The details and scale were just amazing. So one day I collected all my pieces and began to build, big time. I decided my setting was going to be a medieval port town. It was quite a challenge. I only had a limited supply…

    The Czech RepuBrick

Located in the city of Prague there’s a place, deep under the streets, full of LEGO models. It’s the Czech Repu-Brick. Some funny word play there. They have all kinds of models. Most are based on sights in and around Prague while others showcase superheroes, prisons, exquisite libraries, huge mini figures all made out of LEGO’s. All the LEGO models in the exibition combined make up 2,9 tons of LEGO bricks that took 1885 business to construct. And the end result is quite spectacular. As well as having big complex buildings there are also little easter egg scenes in a few models. One of the biggest models is the Lego…

    LEGO Hamilton Musical

Inspired by the broadway musical Hamilton, I’ve built this LEGO recreation of Lin Manuel’s master piece. It was great fun recreating the grand broadway stage and its detail. Before I’ve created LEGO models of movies, historical sights but this is my first musical. I wanted to have everything from the staircase to the turning floor in the center where the final duel takes place. The characters were fun to make as well as I wanted the mini figures to resemble the original cast of the musical. A quick backstory to the making of the musical. Lin Manuel Miranda while acting in the musical In The Heights came across a big…

LEGO Star Wars Star killer Base

From Star Wars Episode 7 the Force Awakens The epic Star Killer Base comes into the world of LEGO. There’s this one LEGO set which you may have seen, The LEGO Death Star. With 4016 LEGO pieces it’s an extreme set built with different rooms, each portraying a different scene from the movie. Then one day I had an idea “What if I made something like that? But instead of the Death Star, it would be Star Killer Base from the new Star Wars trilogy. It wasn’t long after before I set to work building. I looked up images of the LEGO Death Star to help me get an idea…

LEGO Mission Impossible 6 Helicopter Chase

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it… read this article about my LEGO Mission Impossible 6 helicopter chase scene. After seeing the action packed movie, I was inspired to recreate the epic helicopter chase scene with LEGO’s. The helicopter itself was quite a challenge, everything from the landing gear to the tail. I used techniques I don’t normally use which was really fun working with. I did my best to keep all the details from the movie, the hatch doors, cockpit, even the lettering on the tail. Fun fact, after filming the helicopter chase they had a total of 70 hours of footage which was whittled down to seven…
