    2020 Week 04 Recap

It’s time for another week recap. What a week! (I know I say that in every recap but it’s true.) I got to build lots of new LEGO sets, took time to relax and visited my old school. While I was there, I learned a good lesson. A lot of my friends I haven’t seen in almost 7 months and during that time I’ve changed so much as a person and so have they. So, I learned it’s okay if the reunions are awkward. It’s ok to be awkward. As my favorite actor Chris Pratt always says “Just be comfortable with who you are.” Leave some of the highlights of…

    Nurney Farm Organics Promo Video

While visiting the amazing country of Ireland my family and I were staying with a friend we met at Mindvalley University. That eventually led me to creating this promo video for them. Our friend Deirdre O’Sullivan runs and lives on a local farm called Nurney Farm Organics. They grow all kinds of foods like potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, carrots you name it. And if you can’t, they probably have it too. They also house bees for honey and raise hens for eggs. Deirdre and her husband sell all their own produce including other foods at the markets in Dublin, The town of Trim and at the farm itself. As we stayed…

    LEGO Medieval Village

This is my LEGO Medieval Village creation! I love building all kinds of different LEGO creations based on plays, movies, famous sites and buildings, really anything that inspires me. But I don’t really build big scale models that often. I wanted to make something big. I’ve visited the LEGO event Brick-Con in Seattle twice and marveled at the incredibly big creations. Castles, cities, ships, battle scenes. The details and scale were just amazing. So one day I collected all my pieces and began to build, big time. I decided my setting was going to be a medieval port town. It was quite a challenge. I only had a limited supply…

    Venice Travel Diary

It’s the Floating City, the City of Masks, the City of Water, the City of Canals, the Queen of the Adriatic. What? Ok fine I’ll get on with it. It’s Venice! With over 400 gondoliers rowing on the 150 canals, Venice is the sight to see. Join the 30 million tourists that visit the island every year and gawk at the amazing scenery. The city you see today actually sits on a marshy lagoon. The first inhabitants fleeing from barbarians hid on the island of Torcello, Iesolo, and Malamocco that made up the lagoon. To make the foundation of the city they had to drain out parts of the lagoon, dig…

    Young Achiever Greta Thunberg

You may have heard of her. Greta Thunberg has made a global movement winning over 22 awards and traveling all around the world speaking against climate change. Her words have started hundreds of school strikes and have changed the minds of leaders around the world. This all started with one action. Born on January 3rd, 2003 in Stockholm Sweden, Greta Thunberg first learned about climate change at the age of 8. She was so depressed that she stopped eating and talking, losing 10 kilograms in 2 months. She was later diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder and selective mutism. In her words, it basically means “I only speak when I…

    Switzerland Travel Diary

With stunning green hills and historic cities, Switzerland is a place full of wonder and magic. It has a fascinating history, so get ready to dive deep. Everywhere you look in Switzerland there is green. As you pass the snow covered mountains of the Swiss Alps that expand 80,000 square miles you can see yaks and sheep grazing on the land. It’s spectacular. Switzerland is known as a neutral country as it did not participate in any of the world wars. They didn’t even join the United Nations until 2002 and it’s not part of the European Union. Have you seen the Swiss flag? You may have noticed that the…

    Joke Time! 🍪

I want to tell you a joke. You might be thinking, is this a joke Joshua made up himself that’s really bad, or is it actually decent. It depends on your point of view. So let’s get into it. What kind of cookie laughs a lot? Take a guess. Don’t know? Alright… A Snicker-doodle. I got the idea for this joke on my birthday. We had a box of snicker-doodles and I noticed how the word started with snicker. So I did a bit of word play and voila! These past few weeks I’ve created lots of my own jokes from the words I see around me and I plan…

    The Story of Hot Chocolate

WARNING: If you’re on a sugar diet, this article may tempt you. 79% risk. I’m just kidding. Here we go! SLURP! Sorry, I was just taking a sip of my hot chocolate (Ok I’m not actually drinking hot chocolate now, it was just for the intro). I love hot chocolate, it’s like my coffee. Not as intense as most people but it’s definitely one of my favorite drinks. Right above milkshakes, then there’s smoothies, but that’s a whole other story. I thought that today I’d share a bit of history about hot chocolate. Here’s a funny joke… Chocolate comes from cocoa. Cocoa comes from a tree. Tree’s are plants. Therefore…
